NORDIC PATROL YEOMAN'S CONTRIBUTION

On Monday, January 16 these generous and hearty skiers responded to a call for help from the Park Service with a search for a lost snowshoer. Thankfully the snowshoer was found alive near the Stevens Canyon Road. In the process of the search, Lee was on a team that found another two lost snowshoers that had not yet been reported missing.

Let's thank them for their service.

We love to ski and encourage you to join us!  Our monthly meetings and potluck events are open to all. However, much of our website such as Multi-Day Trips, Discussion Forums, Nordic Patrol,  Weekend Weather forecasts, and our Newsletter are open only to Members.

Featured: "The Next 15 Minutes"

Presentation by Kim Kircher

Kim Kircher has been a ski patroller at Crystal Mountain for twenty-one years. When not skiing at Crystal, she’s either skiing elsewhere, writing her life story or thinking up new ways to combine skiing and writing. Her book,  THE NEXT FIFTEEN MINUTES offers a rare glimpse into the strange and fascinating world of ski area work, where steep terrain and deep snow, the twin fuels that run the business, can teach us how to get through the worst trials just fifteen minutes at a time.

SNO-PARK PERMITS AND DISCOVER PASS
Q. The Discover Pass is now required for parking at Washington State Parks.  How does this affect the Sno-Park program? Do I need a Discover Pass if I have a Sno-Park permit? NOTE: This issue applies to those Sno-Parks which are at Washington State Parks.
A. You do not need a Discover Pass to use a designated Sno-Park between Dec. 1 and March 31 for winter recreation activities IF YOU HAVE THE ANNUAL SNO-PARK PASS. There is an exception if you have only a one-day Sno-Park pass then you also need the Discover Pass.
